18×24 in acrylic painting on canvas, finished with archival varnish.
I created this painting as a celebration of summer in its most idyllic form. Summer tends to come late in Maine compared to the rest of the country, and I found myself dreaming of warmer weather (and dare I say, a coconut girl summer) from my office cubicle. My typical warm colors paired perfectly with an aquamarine background. This painting quickly became a way to reset after hectic work days and ease into a slower, more relaxed summer rhythm. It was painted over an old collage, so there is extra texture and history that comes with this canvas. I hope it opens you up to summer magic, the kind we often drift away from as adults.
